Best get comfy, this is a long one!!

Best get comfy, this is a long one……!! The afternoon of my first day back did improve slightly on the morning. The other new Data Quality Officer, who started after I went off sick, kindly gave me something to do, all be it, mind numbingly boring, but better than sitting there all afternoon and all day Friday twiddling my thumbs! It was nice to see everyone from my old work, I went round both Thursday & Friday to have lunch with them! Another new person has started in the department as well, she’s come in on Application Support and it turns out I know her from when we were young! We didn’t particularly get on though! Despite this she was lovely to me, if a bit ‘over the top’… I think she’s a bit of a kiss ass to be honest but, it’s better than being bitchy and bad feeling between us I suppose! I’ve spoken to my old line manager and she’s more than happy for me to go back there if that’s what I want. She’s suggested we have a chat when we’re all back from Annual Leave, which, should be the week beginning 10^th September. Now, I do think I want to go back, but I want the same money as I’m on in this job, also, I go back to clinic about my hand on 17^th September so I’d like to wait and see what the Dr says then, cos if I do end up having to have it operated on, I don’t wanna go back and then go off sick, plus, when I go back next week, it’ll be my first week with the new line manager and things may be different in my new job then. I think I could like it, if there was more variety to it, so we’ll see. I’ll hold back on the decision making for now I think! I’ve got to give it a fair shot, I mean, I was only there 3 weeks before I hurt my hand, it’s no time to make a decision is it? Hmmm… 

I have had a particularly good/interesting weekend! Friday night after work I popped round to Chelle’s as I had a bit of stuff for her, I then had to go to the cash point and pick some chips up for Abigail’s supper. By the time I got home it was 6.20 pm, bearing in mind, I was meeting Sue at 7 pm to go to the club. So basically, I had 40 minutes, to have a bath, bath Abigail after she’d eaten her supper, get ready, get Abigail’s overnight bag pack, get Abigail to Mum’s so she could sleep there! And, guess what? I managed it!!! I got to Sue’s at 7.03 pm precisely… and then guess what?? Sue wasn’t ready!! She’d not even had a bath, cos she’d had a houseful of folk!! Lol!! She didn’t take long to get ready though and we went round to the club. We had an absolutely blinding night! It was a right laugh. We were well drunk by the time Andy and them came up from the Lakeside. Andy was also well hammered, and kept complimenting me on the, ahem, size of my, ahem, cleavage…! Only then, all his mates joined in… in the end every time I got up for owt, they were all giving my cleavage a round of applause…. How embarrassing ay? Me, Sue, Andy, Andy’s mate and Andy’s brother, then decided at 11.50 pm, we NEEDED a Chinese! So I ring them and see if they’ll still deliver and they agreed. We then proceeded to order just about everything off the menu! Every time the woman started to read the order back to me, someone shouted summat else to add on and then we all went back to Sue & Andy’s for that. When the food came, it was in a HUGE cardboard box, that’s how much we’d ordered. Andy then decided to try and barter with the delivery driver over the price. It came to a total of £27.93 and Andy told him he’d give him £25 and do a dance for him! So Andy did this full on, belly dance type thing, on the doorstep and when he’d done the delivery drive just looked at him and said, ‘That’s £27.93 please’… we were all rolling about laughing in the living room! It’ s probably one of them where you had to be there! Anyway, we ate that and we were all sat in the living room, when Andy’s dad came in… He was proper on one! Lost it big style… there is a LONG story but I’ll shorten it down for you… remember I said Sue’s brother in law and his partner had split up… well his Dad has took this quite hard and doesn’t agree with the fact that both have them have also erm… ‘moved on’ to other people, shall we say?? So he whacking Sue’s sofa with his walking stick! We were all just sat there, gob smacked! Then he went, next thing we knew, he’d chucked all Jamie’s stuff out on the street!! All Jamie’s sons old pram and everything, so at 1.30 am we’re dragging stuff in off the street!! It was unbelievable! It was an amazing night, we’ll never forget in, that’s for sure!! I went home at about 2.30 am! I was knackered all day Saturday!! 

Then, Saturday night, was not so good. We had another ‘Family Barbecue’ to go to. The last one was fine, and a lot better than we expected it to be! However, this was not the case Saturday night! We got there and both my Mum’s brothers were in a horrible mood. Uncle John (Sue’s Dad) was screaming at Max for something he hadn’t even done. So that obviously but Sue’s back up. Then Uncle Frank decided to sit next me and started calling my Dad! How fucking rude and disrespectful ay?? I sat there listening to him and thought to myself, if I say summat here, I’m gonna fly, and I knew that if I went, Sue & Carly wouldn’t be far behind. So I sat there, basically, letting him rip my Dad to shreds!! I’m absolutely livid about it. The only reason I didn’t say anything, was because it would mean there’d be bad feeling at the wedding next week and I didn’t want that for Carly, and also, I know that once I’d let it all out, I’d never speak to them again, including my mum probably cos she was on as well! How dare they… when Mum left Dad, she did it while he was away with my Uncle Frank for the weekend, he basically had no idea, came back on the Monday to find his wife, kids and most of the furniture gone from his home? You’d be a bit indignant wouldn’t ya?? But no, they’re not the ones in the wrong…. My dad is!! Righto!! I was talking to Carly yesterday and she’s as mad as I am about it, I said to her, I’d bite my tongue if they start next week cos of the wedding, and obviously Dad and them have got to be in the same room.  But, Carly said she won’t be biting her tongue if they start, so all hell could break loose, cos Dad’s family will be there as well obviously!! But even if nothing comes out at the wedding, I’ll be having my piece with them, I’m not having it!!! He’s my Dad at the end of the day, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I’m not asking them to like him, but don’t sit there calling him in front of me… That’s just bang out of order!! 

Yesterday was good though, Carly, Drew & Alex came round for their tea and then Emma, Lee, Jack & Kayla came up. It was lovely we all sat in my house til about 10 pm chatting and the kids were playing! As always it was a proper laugh, and even Drew came out of his shell a bit! He’s getting a lot more chatty with the family now, it’s only took nearly 5 years for him to get used to us! Lol!! Me & Carly have decided we’d be better off concentrating on Dad’s side of the family more (apart from our Sue obviously) cos they’re actually nice!! So I think that’s what we’re gonna do! 

This week is obviously gonna be a busy one. Tomorrow, I’m going to Chesterfield to pick the photo’s up from the portrait place, gotta get Abigail a Birthday Cake and Chelle’s coming up in the afternoon! Wednesday is Abigail’s birthday, then Thursday and Friday the nail woman is coming most of the day and we’ve also got to pick the bridesmaid dresses on Thursday!! Phew, I’m getting tired just thinking about it! 

In good news though, Liverpool won 2 – 0 away at Sunderland on Saturday!! Torres was amazing how he ran through the defenders!! And Voronin scored a blinder… and Momo Sissoko scored his first Liverpool goal as well, which was also the Club’s 7000^th League Goal! So he’ll be in the history books now! That’s 2 away wins this season already!! We hadn’t won away from home by xmas last season!! Great start I think you’ll agree! 

Oooh, by the way, lost 2 lb this week!! So still on course!! Yay!!

Great Start to Back at Work!

Well, I started back to work today, and guess what? It’s now 11.25 am and I have been sat for the last hour and half with nothing to do! Obviously picked up where I left off! All the managers are out on Annual Leave and haven’t thought to leave me some instructions. Well why would they? I’d been in the job 3 weeks when I got injured and have since been off for two months, obviously I’d be able to walk in and just carry on unaided! And, the best part… The ‘core’ work that I was doing before (the mind numbingly boring task), I can’t even do that because my password won’t work, and no one in here seems to know how I go about resetting in!! So, After sorting through all the emails I had (323 to be exact) I literally have NOTHING to do, for the next 5 and a half hours and as well as all day tomorrow! Mint ay? This has more or less confirmed in my mind that I want to go back to my old job! Just need to sort it out now!!

 Yesterday, I had lovely day all in all! Started in the morning, when I popped down to Sue’s with a birthday card for Harry, who turned 13 yesterday!! Her brother in law was there, he’s going through a messy separation at the minute and in order to try and cheer him up Sue laid on some bacon sarnies!! Mmmm Mmmm! (Blew the diet a bit yesterday! As you will see a little later too!) So, stayed there an hour or so and then I had to nip to the bank before going over to Chelle’s! When we got there Chelle showed us the Baby’s bedroom and all his clothes (he is already one well dressed dude, and he hasn’t even been born yet!) and it was all absolutely gorgeous! We then decided to go to Frankie & Benny’s for lunch, it was absolutely divine and a good time was had by all I think! Didn’t need anything else to eat for the rest of the day (see diet well and truly blown out of the window – but I’m being extra extra good today!!)! Chelle’s bump is growing nicely too, although I’m not sure she’d agree, with how uncomfortable she’s been! I know she’s struggling a bit with the exhaustion and her back! It’ll all be worth it in the end, and baby will be here before ya know it!! Feel better soon mate, Mwah!  

Last night was not so good! I’d text Sue and said if Andy was out could I go down and watch the England match with her cos I’m sick of sitting in my own company every god damn night!!! Anyway, she replied and said she didn’t know what she was doing but Jackie had asked her to go round for a bit of a girlie night! I replied and said no worries then, and assumed that if she did go round to Jackie’s she’d let me know, cos normally I’d go with her (especially seeing as I’d said I didn’t want to be sat alone!) but she didn’t! Andy was texting me on and off all night for the football and he text me at half time and said about 20 of them had all just sung Happy Birthday to Harry. I asked who it was and he said Harry’s mates, him, Sue, Jackie and a couple of other women who tend to go to Jackie’s if she has a girlie night! Now I have a couple of issues with this, and it really pissed me off last night, I don’t know if everyone else will agree with me or if you think I’m being petty (please feel free to let me know). Firstly, I’m annoyed that Sue didn’t ask me to go round to Jackie’s with her, when she knew I was feeling low and didn’t want to be on my own, and secondly, even though I wasn’t at Jackie’s, how come no one gave me a shout to go and sing to Harry, seeing as all the street was invited?? I mean, I only live 4 doors away! So in the end, I got myself that worked up about why, clearly no one wanted me around, that I couldn’t sleep, and as a result had to take on of my sleeping tablets, causing me to feel groggy today! I know I shouldn’t let this bother me, but it does! (See my 50 things page, point 49!)… Sue seems to be ok with me this morning, I’ve text her and she’s replied, so I don’t know… Maybe there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation, we’ll see! That’s it Rant Over! 

Not even gonna discuss the shite England result! Same old England, snatching defeat from the jaws of Victory! I can’t see us qualifying for Euro 08 at this rate!

Let the Diet (and excercise) Commence!!

I’m pleased to report I am feeling slightly brighter about things now! I think the fact that I’ve had quite a bit to do is part of the reason, and also, I’m rather looking forward to getting back into the routine of work and everything. I started the dieting and exercise in a big way yesterday (I can’t promise how long it will last for, but I might as well go for it while I’m in the mood!) I’ve cut out all the crap that I’ve been snacking on while I’ve been at home, started drinking 2 litres of water a day again and started doing some exercise, which I think is the most important thing! I’ve been going on the strider exercise machine at Dad’s for between 10 – 20 minutes a day, as well as at least 5 minutes of constant skipping (!) and using this tummy crunch jobby that I’ve got. I have to say, I think that’s helped to improve my mood as well!! I’m hoping to lose at least 12 lbs by the time we go away (6 weeks), which, at 2 lb a week is quite achievable I think! Fingers crossed anyway… I’m thinking of adding a page chronicling my attempts, what do ya think? It might spur me on in the times when I can’t be arsed to exercise and am craving a chocolate bar or summat!! 

We all went back to Photo place on Saturday to pick the pictures! I’m really pleased with how they turned out actually. We had the ‘Full Set’ package which consists of 8 10 x 8” pictures and 8 7 x 5” pictures. So we’ve had a full range. Some of all of us together, some of just me, Carly & Leanne, some of Mum with me, Carly & Leanne, some of mum with Abigail & Alex, some single ones of Alex and Abigail, one with Abigail and Alex sat together, some of me & Abigail, and some of Carly, Drew & Alex. Drew’s dad is quite clever with photography as well, he’s got all the software for the computer at home so he’s going to copy some of them so I can have some, Carly can, and we’re going to get some framed for Dad for his birthday (shh! Though cos I think that might be illegal!!) I’m going to collect them next Tuesday, and I have to say I’m rather looking forward to seeing the actual pictures, instead of just on the computer screen! Mum was well impressed with them as well, which is good, seeing as it was for her birthday and all!! 

Pfft…. I don’t even want to talk about the travesty of the Liverpool v Chelsea match! Fernando Torres scored on his Anfield debut, a blinding goal it was too! Excellent start! But then, the mardy gits that Chelsea are, they have to start cheating in order to get anywhere! Every time the slightest thing happened they surrounded the ref appealing for this and for that! Then Agger and Malouda had, what can’t even be described as a collision, Malouda was clearly diving before Agger was anywhere near him, and amazingly the ref gave a penalty!!! Cheating Scum! Only two people in the entire stadium thought it was a penalty, the (blind) ref and bloody Mourinho, who incidently claim his team are ‘pure’ and ‘naïve’ – yeah righto!! As Rafa said “If that’s the case then I’m Little Red Riding Hood!”, TOO BLOODY RIGHT!! So it ended in a 1 -1 draw! The ref has since admitted that it was never a penalty… and he won’t be officiating any match this weekend!! He said his decisions ‘may have’ affected the result!! that’s all very well, but still robbed us of the points didn’t it?? He said his decision ‘may have’ affected the result!! May Have?? I think it bloody well did!!! Grr!!

We went for the Wedding Rehearsal yesterday, after a farce, whereby the vicar didn’t turn up, it did go quite well! It transpires that the vicar thought the rehearsal was at 7 pm, we thought it was at 3 pm (not much difference ay?) so me & Carly had to go to Langwith and track down another vicar who is the Team Rector or summat! We all know more or less what we’re doing on the day now and the kids were reasonably well behaved! Leanne practiced her reading and did really well so all is going well!! I’ve been to the hospital today for my Nerve Conduction Test. It was a little odd having the electric current through my arm (its still tingling now!), but it wasn’t too bad! I can’t get in at clinic until 17^th September, so got a bit of a wait, but at least I can get on with life for a little bit, and get back to normality! And, if Surgery is the next option, it won’t be til after the wedding!! 

That’s about it I think! I’m off to the Dentist this afternoon, We’re going over to see Chelle tomorrow morning cos she’s still not well bless her, she’s not really having an easy time with the pregnancy at all! Hope you’re feeling better soon mate!! Then back to work on Thursday!!

Lonely, depressed… but why?

I’ve got some even more good news about the holiday! I paid Mum £100 of the £300 it’s costing for me to go and then she said to me yesterday that she’d pay the rest of it cos of all the money she’s shelled out for Carly’s wedding! So it’s now only costing me £100 for a week, all inclusive, for me & Abigail, in Majorca! Woo Hoo!! Bargain or what! Bless Mum!! So now I’ve only got to find what little bit of spending money we’ll need while we’re there! I went to Mansfield Wednesday and got almost everything we’ll need clothes wise! I got dress and pair of white linen jean type trousers from Dorothy Perkins and some lovely stuff from Primark including a nice strapless dress for night time! I can also take these with me when we go to Butlins (which is only 3 weeks today!) I’ve got loads to look forward to lately, its Abigail’s birthday on the 29^th, then the wedding, then Butlins, then the holiday! 

Despite the fact that I have all these ‘events’ to look forward to, I’ve been feeling rather depressed just lately. I’ve not really been sleeping, the other night I went to bed at the normal time of about 11 pm but laid awake until 1 am, then got up and watched tv and had a chicken noodle soup thing cos I just couldn’t go to sleep! And I just generally feel ‘down’, and I don’t really now why. Maybe it’s cos I’m lonely? I mean, it’s been a while now, and I just want to find someone that I want to be with and who wants to be with me… Is that really so much to ask? There must be some ‘normal’ men out there somewhere… surely? All I want is a decent bloke, who has his own life and is not dependant on me, but whose company I enjoy… Hello? Are you out there? If you are, please speak up!! 

Yesterday I went with my friend Jodie for the final fitting for her wedding dress. It was lovely, she looked absolutely amazing and the dress suited her down to the ground! I’m gutted that I can’t be there when she gets married! But it falls on the same weekend as Carly’s and I can’t be here, and in Mauritius as much as I liked to be! I hope she has an absolutely amazing time and I wish her & Jez all the best for their long & happy future together (Oh and I’m not jealous at all… well much!). 

I’m looking forward to going back to work next Thursday. I think I’m gonna start back at the gym then too, get into the routine of going at least twice a week. I’ve lost over a stone but I’d liked to loose at least another stone! So need to hit the gym! Plus it’ll be good to get back into the swing of life if you know what I mean? This break from work has been lovely, and I’ve got to spend loads and loads of time with Abigail but I’ll be glad to get back to some sort of normality!! 

Oh, and what a great start to the season for the mighty Liverpool ay? A win against Aston Villa at the weekend and a win Wednesday against Toulouse in the Champions League! Looking good. Its the first time Rafa has started the season with a win, so that bodes well for the Premier League campaign I think! I reckon Rafa’s goatee beard is gonna be the Kops good luck charm this year! If they can turn Chelsea over at the weekend we’ll be away!

I’m Going on Holiday!!!!!

As you may have guessed from the title… I’m going on holiday!!! Yay!! In 6 weeks, on 30^th September.. Me & Abigail are off to Majorca for a week with Mum, Bob and Leanne! We’re going All Inclusive to Calas De Mallorca, staying in the Hotel Calas Park! I’m so excited.. the best part is, cos Mum’s paying for Abigail, it’s only gonna cost me £300!! Bargain or what? I’ve phoned work and checked that I can have the time off (a bit cheeky I know when I haven’t even gone back yet, but they were fine with it!) so it’s all in order.. I’m going to town tomorrow to pick up some holiday essentials! So excited!!

 We went to the photographer thing today and it went really well! I was worried that I’d be quite self conscious or embarrassed ya know? But it was really relaxed! They took a wide variety of pictures, some with all of us, some with just me & Abigail, some with me, carly & Leanne…. Loads really! We’re going back on Saturday to pick the ones we want! I’m really looking forward to it! I think they’ll turn out really well!! In bad news, Abigail’s been a bit ill again. You’ll be surprised to learn that it’s her ears & throat again. She’s been as deaf as a post and her tonsils are HUGE again. So we’ve been to see the GP this morning, and she’s got some drops for her ears and antibiotics, for once! To be fair though, it’s been at least a month since she had the last ones, so gotta be grateful for that I suppose! 

 We’ve been over to see Jodie tonight and had a laugh as always! It’s not long til they go off to get married now! I’m going to the dress shop with her on Thursday for her final fitting and to pick it up! I’m so excited to see it. I’m gutted I can’t be there with her, but they’re marrying in Mauritius 2 days after Carly gets married so it wasn’t possible to be at both and of course, family comes first! Jodie understands though! We’re getting really close again I think, and Abigail loves her Aunty Jode! Which is lovely! I’m getting to know Jez more now too, and I really like him. He’s someone that ya can have a proper conversation with, but have a laugh with as well! For the first time, in my whole life really, I feel like I have a wide selection of really good friends around me. Between Sue, Chelle, Ally & Jodie I’ve always got someone to turn to, and that’s relatively new to me, part of it is probably also the fact that I’m more willing to open up and discuss my problems than I have been in the past. I hope those people realise how important they are to me too, and know that I’ll always be there for them, as they are for me!

Wow, got a bit deep and meaningful there ay? Ooops… wasn’t planning on that! Was just gonna be a quick post about the holiday!

Hen Night ID Disaster… And Feet!

I’ve had quite a nice weekend… Friday night we went to Carly’s house for her ‘gathering’ and that was a laugh! All Drew’s family were there and ours… so it was nice for us all to get together. I keep winding Drew’s brother up, cos he’s the Best Man at the wedding, so I keep telling him that now I’ve been promoted to Maid of Honour he has to dance with me at the Reception!! I don’t think he’s too keen on the idea though!! Lol!!  

Saturday night was The Hen Night!! We were all really looking forward to it, and loads of us went in the end. We did have a fab night, even though the ‘hen’ disappeared off with my Mum & Aunty Lorraine cos she don’t like the crowds.. so they went to some old pubs.. (The Bridge, The Ram and… wait for… The Gas Board Club) Banging ay? The night did not get off to a good start because door man on ‘The Dial’ wouldn’t let Carly or Leanne in cos they didn’t have ID… Bearing in mind Carly is 20 and Leanne is 22… but ya know, fair enough, no ID, ya don’t get in (he asked me as well but I’d got my drivers license with me!!) So then we went to The Courthouse, everything was fine in there, everyone got served! Next, The Swan… and oh my god… how ridiculous were the staff in the Swan? Leanne and I were at the bar and she went to get served before me, but once again they wouldn’t serve her cos she didn’t have any ID, which again, I suppose is quite reasonable, no ID and all, even though she is 22… but then… the staff had gone on a proper power trip and were being proper snotty, they wouldn’t serve me or Sue ‘in case we were buying for Leanne’ which we weren’t, and I had my ID!!! Even if we were buying for Leanne, she’s 22 for Gods Sake!! It probably wouldn’t have irritated us so much, but directly behind us in the queue were two young girls who can’t have been much older than 16 and they got served no problem!!! So poor Annette… had to go back to the bar 4 times, cos they wouldn’t give her more than one drink at a time cos she was with us!! It was beyond a joke, honestly! In the end, Leanne rung home and get her fella to bring her Drivers License down… and guess what… no one asked her after that!! So a word of advice people… If you’re out in a group in Mansfield and anyone’s Under 25 ya better make sure ya’ve all got ID, or you’ve shot it in the Swan.. no one will get a drink!!! Phew… rant over! The rest of the night made up for it though, particularly in Yates and Martha’s we had a proper mint time!! I was quite drunk, but not disgustingly so, my feet were killing when I got in though!! 

Talking about feet (little bit of a random leap there!) I’ve been having trouble with mine, they’ve been hard, cracked and rough just lately (I’m not sure ya all wanna hear this, but hey…I’m gonna tell ya anyway!) so I ordered some stuff out of the Avon in an attempt to sort them out… It’s from their ‘footworks’ range and it’s called ‘Pedi-Brasion’ I can tell you now… its AMAZING!! Ya rub it on ya feet after bath and it softens them up no end, I’ve also been to Boots and bought some of their ‘Foot Soufflé’ from their ‘The Sanctuary’ range, which ya put on after you’ve used exfoliate stuff and now my feet are softer than ever… I was walking around like I was walking on clouds the first time I used them, my feet were in heaven! 

Hmmm, got nothing really planned for this week, apart from the photographer tomorrow, which I am looking forward to but, I need to find something to wear!!

Back to Work!!!

I’m going back to work!! Yay!! (How sad is it that I’m excited about that?) I rang them yesterday, cos I’m sick of being at home now. I’m going back on 23^rd August, which is a Thursday. I’ll work the Thursday and Friday then I’m off on annual leave the following week cos its Abigail’s birthday and the wedding. Then I’m going back on Monday 3^rd September… Abigail starts back to school on 4^th September. Then I’ve booked Friday 7^th and Monday 10^th off so I can ease in gently, plus that’s the weekend we’re going to Butlins!! Lol!! I don’t know how long it’ll last for being back, cos a lot depends on what my Consultant says when I’ve have the Nerve Conduction test cos obviously if he decides to go down the surgery route, I’ll be off again. But at least I’ve shown willing and gone back ant it?? A little bit of normality there. 

I sent the picture of Abigail that I posted the other day to her ‘Dad’ as a lot of people have said she looks like him in it. We ended up having a really long conversation about Abigail and the whole situation. The upshot of it was he’s still too selfish to want anything to do with her. His girlfriend and work are still far more important to him that she will ever be. He just kept coming out with all these excuses as to why he can’t see he (can’t is the wrong word I think, won’t is more appropriate) and I just said at the end of the day if he was any kind of human being he’d do everything in his power to see Abigail. I said to him I hope one day he wants to be a part of her life and Abigail tells him to fuck right off… just so he knows how it feels, and his answer to that was ‘Fair Comment’?? Tosser. 

In good news, the Nail/Beauty Lady is all booked for the wedding. She’s coming to my house at 12 noon on both the Thursday and Friday before the wedding cos there’s quite a few of us to be done. She’s charging us £20 per set of arcy-gel nails, which is a bargain I think. She’s done it at a reduced rate cos there are literally about 7 of us having them done, so it’s worth it for her! And, she’s coming at 12.30 on the morning of the wedding to do the bridesmaids and Carly’s make up for the day! Fabulous stuff. Me & Carly made a load of sashes for us all to go out with on Saturday. Carly’s says ‘Bride to Be’ (obviously) and we did her name on the back. Then the rest of ours say ‘Carly’s Hen Nite’ on the back then personalised on the front, so mine says ‘Bridesmaid’ and my name! They look ace, if I do say so myself! So got a busy weekend ahead, down at Carly’s tomorrow for Drew’s makeshift stag do, the the hen do on Saturday!! Excellent!! 

We’ve booked the photographer for mum’s birthday present. We’re all going there next Tuesday, so really looking forward to that!! 

Been to Mansfield today to get Abigail’s school shoes ready for September. I know it’s a bit early, but from next week Clark’s is just gonna be rammed with people getting ready for ‘Back to School’ so I’ve beat the crowd you see!! Ha ha!! Clever ay? I also treated myself to a few new t-shirts for work as I mostly have jumpers, and dare I say it… summer has arrived!! Lol!!

Rant Alert… I’m on one!

Oh I’m on one… I finally got through to the hospital this morning. Spoke to a secretary, the secretary for my Consultant, who I spoke to last time obviously wasn’t in, as the bitch that I spoke to was horrible, she didn’t even try to help me!! I explained my situation and everything and she just put me through to the department of neuro-physiology or summat that do the nerve conduction tests. I have managed to arrange an appointment but the first one they could offer me was Tuesday 21^st August which is still 2 weeks away! I was hoping to be sorted and back at work for then!! So I then rang through to the Hand Clinic. I explained that the problem with the numbness had improved and is not a problem while ever I have the splint on, it’s when I take the splint off that the pins and needles start and if I have it off for any length of time I loose the feeling in the fingers. But, the pain has increased and become constant, so I explained All this to the lovely Staff Nurse that was trying to help me. She said obviously the pain should be getting better by now, and I could make an appointment to return to clinic if I really wanted to, but there wasn’t much point because the Consultant still probably wouldn’t do anything until after the Nerve Conduction Test. So basically, I’ve got to put up with the agony that I’m in for the next 3 weeks, until I’ve had this test and got back to clinic. When I’m fairly sure that the nerves will be normal, cos if they were damaged surely the numbness would be constant?? And they will then probably start investigating, if it is in fact the tendon that’s causing the problems, which is basically what I’ve been saying from Day 1!! So we’ll have wasted nearly a month in getting it treated! Great stuff… I was so pissed off when I got off the phone that I cried. I just can’t be doing with it anymore, I want to get back to work and some sort of normality and I don’t want to be in constant pain!! I was referred to Derby cos they’re supposedly the Hand Specialists… but so far as I can see, I’d have been better of at Kings Mill… if they’d have treated me the same way as they did 4 years ago, it’d be all just about healed now!! Ridiculous!! So that’s my rant…!! Phew…  

On a brighter note, things are really coming together with the wedding now. Me & Carly have got a load of sashes to make for everyone for the hen night on Saturday. And we’ve booked a Mobile Beautician to come out to my house and do everyone’s nails the day before the wedding and go to Dad’s and do Carly’s, Hollie’s and my make up for the day (and Sue’s as well if she agrees to fill the vacant bridesmaid post). So that week before the wedding should be a really enjoyable one… Mum’s going to bring some Pimm’s up to mine on the day the Mobile Beautician comes so we can have a proper girly afternoon, and then that night we’re having a girly night at Mum’s the night before the wedding! Which should be a proper laugh! This Friday we’re all having a bit of a party at Carly’s… as sort of a stag do for Drew, cos he’s not the most outgoing party person! So his family and us are all gonna get together, which again, should be a right laugh!! 

I just want to make a quick apology, cos as I’m typing to this I’m having a conversation on MSN, and I think I may have upset someone. This wasn’t my intention at all, but I had to ask the question I asked and clear it up, cos regardless of anything else, my daughter is my life and will ALWAYS come first. So I am truly sorry if I upset you, but it had been bothering me, and I needed to clear it up. 

Speaking of Abigail… I took a really cute picture of her with pigtails in and wearing her new dress!! Bless!! (Chelle… Do ya think she looks like her Dad in this picture??)

Wedding Crisis

We’ve had a massive wedding crisis! Carly has sacked her Maid of Honour! It’s a long story so let me explain. The dresses Carly picked for the big bridesmaid were expensive, so when she picked them in September last year she explained to the Maid of Honour that they were £160 and offered to pay for the dress for her (bearing in mind, I’ve paid for my dress and Drew’s mum has paid for his sisters dress) but the Maid of Honour said, no, it’s alright, she’d pay for it. So, she’s had nearly 10 months to pay for her dress but Carly was having to chase her for £100 of this money last week, a month before the wedding. So she got the money from her last week and let it slide. Until Friday night, Carly had spoken to the dress shop and the alterations for the Maid of Honour’s dress will cost £20 (which is a bargain really considering some dress shops charge £50 per alteration and this is £20 for the lot) but, the Maid of Honour kicked off big style! Sent Carly a horrible text message saying “You need to get it through your head, this is your wedding, not mine, I work for things I want to but, not what other people want me to buy.. I seem to be shelling out loads on this wedding”. Which, I think, is just bang out of order. Carly offered to pay for the dress for her in September when her & Drew could have budgeted for the extra money, but deciding 4 weeks before the wedding that you don’t wanna pay it… Wrong!! So, the upshot of this is, I’ve been promoted to Maid of Honour!! Yay for me! And Carly is going to ask Sue if she’d like to be bridesmaid! 

Last night, we all went to Frankie & Benny’s for the first of Carly’s Hen Nights. It was a low key affair, just a quiet meal. But it was lovely. We’re having the big Hen Night in town next week when we’re all going out! Should be a laugh! Chelle looked after Abigail for me, and apart from some indecision from Abigail about whether she was going to be or waiting up for me it went well I think! Thanks Again for that Mate!

I’ve finally got round to taking the pictures of my bedroom now its all finished and looking fab, if I do say so myself… Enjoy…

   

Still not heard from the hospital, so I’ll be getting on to them tomorrow… Hmmm that gives me summat to look forward to don’t ya think. Oh, and I had a letter from the stupid CSA yesterday (which for some bizarre reason they sent to my Dad’s house despite the fact that I rang them and told them my new address, several times) saying that Abigail’s Dad has now got to pay me £25 a week to pay off arrears of £80 has I haven’t received any money for I don’t know how long… Nice to see they’ve got they’re arse in gear without me having to ring them and shout at them.. too much!

Still not heard from the hospital… Grr!

I’m so bored at being at home now it’s untrue! I STILL haven’t heard anything from the hospital about the appointment for my Nerve test! It’ll be 2 weeks on Monday since I spoke to the secretary and nearly a month since I was supposed to have been referred! Is it just me, or is that ridiculous?! It’s all very well but what if I have got some damage to the nerves that needs treating and they’ve twatted about for a month?? Grr! 

Mum’s birthday party was ace! All the family was there and it was just mega! Mum had a fantastic time and received some lovely presents that she wasn’t expecting! You can’t move in her house now for all the flowers she got! I’m glad it was special for her, it’s not everyday you turn 50 is it? 

To say I’m generally bored I have had plenty to do this week. Sunday was a bit of a let down though, I was meant to be going to the pictures but I was ill. It was odd, cos Chelle had been over in the afternoon and we’d had a lovely chat and cuppa and I felt fine (I wasn’t even hungover from Saturday night). After she’d gone I was just sat on the sofa and all of a sudden I got these really bad stomach cramps, which felt like someone was twisting all my insides! Then I started throwing up and everything! It was horrid, I felt so drained I could hardly move and the sweat was just running off me! So I had to cancel the pictures, I felt awful cos I wanted to go but I couldn’t go like that, there was no way! So we rearranged for Tuesday.

Monday I took as many painkillers as I could stomach cos I HAD to clean the house properly! It was doing my head in not being able to do it! So I gutted it all downstairs. I scrubed the kitchen floor, cleaned all the windows and just generally cleaned my socks off. My hands is absolutely killing now like, I’ve been in agony with it ever since the tablets wore off Monday and its not showing any signs of improving! Probably should have left the cleaning! Monday evening, we all went back to the dress shop to try our dresses on since the alterations were done! Mine & Abigail’s fit perfectly now! It’s only 4 weeks on Saturday to the wedding!! How mad is that? Carly tried her dress on and looked absolutely gorgeous cos all her alterations are finished now as well! Abigail looked like a little princess (doesn’t she always though?) and I can’t wait for the wedding now!! After the fitting I went to Emma’s for a cuppa, which was a laugh as always! 

Tuesday, I went into town cos I promised Leanne I’d help her pick out some make up that suited her! Then me, Sue, Abigail & Max went up to the Vanish for lunch. We sat outside and the kids played on the park, it was lovely! Tuesday night I went to the pictures to see Hairspray. Had a great evening, and loved the film! It was really good. Like I said, it was just a great evening all in all!! 

Yesterday, I went to the pictures (again) this time I took Abigail, Max and Max’s friend to see The Simpsons film! They absolutely loved it! Our Max hasn’t shut up about it since!! They were all laughing and thoroughly enjoyed, I have to say I did too! I’m not a huge fan of the Simpsons but I did enjoy the film. After that, in light of the fabulous weather we’ve been having (here’s hoping it stays fine) I went and got Abigail a paddling pool for the back garden, so we had some fun putting that up and she really enjoyed playing in it. She’s going back in it in a minute… I took a picture of her playing!

  

Plans for the rest of the week… Hmm… not much on today, I think Nat’s coming over tonight cos she’s back from her holiday now! Tomorrow night I have plans, not sure what we’re doing yet but definitely summat! Saturday night we’re all going to Frankie & Benny’s (again) for Carly’s first Hen do! Chelle & Matt have kindly agreed to look after Abigail for me… Thanks again for that mate, ya know I really appreciate it, you’re a lifesaver!!  

It’s only a few weeks to Abigail’s birthday now, I’ve ordered her some stuff from the Toys R Us website. She’s having some Disney Princess bedding and a lamp for her bedroom. A HUGE Disney Princess stationary set and a pair of Disney Princess (are ya sensing a theme) ‘my first’ roller skates with all the elbow pads and everything!! I think she’ll love them!
