Dreams and Their Definitions

Seeing as the dream definitions are becoming a regular aspect of my Blog I thought they deserved their own page… I think I’ll still put them in the main blog, but also record them and the definitions here… then I’ll have a proper record of them, and also what was happening in life at the time I dreamt them… I might get a better insight into them this way! So I’ll update this as and when I have a dodgy dream that I can remember…  

Tuesday 13^th November 

Had a couple of dodgy dreams over the last few days again. The most vivid one, and obe that’s really stayed with me and been bothering me is one wear I was trying to cross a bridge over the road in Mansfield near the bus station but I couldn’t do it, I didn’t feel steady and I was crawling across dead, dead slow! In another dream I was spitting and rinsing my mouth out and all this horrible stuff kept coming up! So I’ve looked up bridge, spitting and mouth. It seems with the bridge one that it’s about a transitional phase which is not dissimilar from those I looked up the other day… Obviously a theme developing here… I just hope that I’m transitioning for the better this time! 

Bridge

 To dream that you are crossing a bridge, signifies an important decision or a critical junction in your life. This decision will prove to be a positive change with prosperity and wealth in the horizon. Bridges represent a transitional period in your life where you will be moving on to a new stage.  

Mouth

To see a mouth in your dream, signifies your need to express yourself or talk about an issue that’s bothering you. On the other hand, perhaps you have said too much and you need to keep your mouth shut. 

Spit

To spit in your dream, signifies an aspect of yourself that you need to get rid of. Alternatively, spitting may represent anger and contempt. 

Tuesday 6^th November 

I’ve not updated this page for a while again, mostly cos I’ve not been sleeping, so therefore, I haven’t been dreaming! But over the weekend and last night I’ve had a few odd ones. Sunday night I dreamt that my dad died, which was awful! I woke up at 4 am sobbing! So I looked that one up. Then last night I dreamt that me & Abigail went away with Sue and the family for this big ride thing (I can’t remember the exact details, just that it was very cold, we all had ski gear on and we jumped out of a plane!!) but instead of coming back with Abigail I ‘nipped’ to Majorca on the plane and stayed in a hotel and met Chelle out there, and for some reason Chelle had Abigail with her and I was practically begging her to tell everyone at home that I’d taken Abigail… Bizarre ay? So I’ve looked up a plane, holidays and hotel. The general gist of the definitions is that I’m in a transitional phase etc… and I do sort of feel like that!

Father 

To see your father in your dream, symbolizes authority and protection. It suggests that you need to be more self-reliant. Consider also your waking relationship with your father.To dream that your father is dead, forewarns that you need to proceed with caution in conducting your business.

Airplane    

To see an airplane in your dream, indicates  that you will overcome your obstacles and rise above to a new level of prominence and status. You may experience a higher consciousness, new-found freedom and greater awareness.  To dream that you transfer planes, implies an important transitional phase in your life which will take you away from your intended path. Changes will occur in your life which will take you to new directions and new heights of status and recognition. 

 Holidays

To dream of holidays, represent a need for a break or time for rest.  You are expressing a wish to escape from your responsibilities. Depending on the activities related to the holiday, the dream may also indicate family issues, personal attitudes or some difficulty.  

Hotel

To see a hotel in your dream, signifies a new state of mind or a shift in personal identity. You need to move away from your old habits and old way of thinking. Or you feel the need to temporarily escape from your daily life.  

 Friday 7^th – Sunday 10^th September

Over the course of the weekend in Butlins I have had several odd dreams. I can’t remember which ones were specific to which night so I’ve just ‘Clumped’ them together. I dreamt that I was on a bridge with my mum when in collapsed, then that there’d been some sort of fire in Dad’s house and no one could leave cos the structure was unsteady, then I saw a Pit Chimney thing being demolished and then there was one where I was shaving my leg and it was extremely hairy and I kept missing bits. So I’ve looked up bridge, demolition, trap and shaving…

Bridge

To see a bridge collapse in your dream, denotes that you have let a great opportunity pass you by

Demolition

To dream of a demolition, suggests that you are undergoing major changes in your life. You may feel out of control.

Trap 

To dream that you are trapped or caught in a trap, suggests that you are feeling confined and restricted in your job, career, health, or a personal relationship. You may be in a rut or tired of the same daily monotony  

Shave

To dream that you are shaving, suggests that you are making a minor life-changing decision. Some aspect of your daily routine is being altered. Alternatively, it may represent your severe attitude or self-punishment. 

Thursday 6^TH September

Here’s another one for you… I do think that it makes me remember the dreams more when I write them down and interpret them! I’ll have to make more of an effort to keep this up to date. Last night I dreamt that I was looking for Jodie and when I found her she was in this room filled with balloons and the balloons were all floating away! Then I was having dance classes and dancing but the other people in the class were children… So I looked up Balloons & Dance, some interesting stuff, particularly the bit about ‘declining hopes in your search for love’! Its scary how accurate the interpretations are sometimes….

Balloon

To see balloons in your dream, indicates declining hopes in your search for love. A situation in your life will take a turn downward. Balloons also represent arrogance and an inflated opinion of yourself

To see an ascending balloon in your dream, signifies frustrating conditions in your life in which you are seeking to rise above. On a positive note, balloons symbolize celebration and festivities. You need to acknowledge your inner child. 

Dance

To dream that you are dancing, signifies freedom from constraints and harmony/balance with yourself. You are working in cooperation with yourself. It also represents frivolity, happiness, gracefulness, sensuality and sexual desires. Alternatively, it may signify intimacy and a union of the masculine and feminine aspects of yourself.

Tuesday 4^th September 2007 

Wow, it’s been a while since I logged any dreams hasn’t it? Honestly, I haven’t been having that many that I remember. Since I’ve returned to work though I seem to be having a couple. Last nights involved me being at the traffic lights on my way to work and seeing/being involved in a car crash. Then in a separate dream (I think) I was pregnant, only a few months. I’m not sure if the pregnant one might have something to do with the fact that I saw Chelle yesterday, but I’ve looked it up anyway. Here’s the definitions:-

Crash

To dream that you are in a car crash, indicates that your beliefs, lifestyle, or goals are clashing with another’s. It may also represent a shocking situation or painful experience. Alternatively, car crashes may forewarn of your dangerous or careless driving habits.   

Pregnant

To dream that you are pregnant, symbolizes an aspect of yourself or some aspect of your personal life that is growing and developing. You may not be ready to talk about it or act on it.  This may also represent the birth of a new idea, direction, project or goal. 

Thursday 19^th July 2007 

Last night was another weird one (I’m sensing a theme here…) I was on a bus and sat next to someone who I knew but I don’t know who it was. He had a glass of some sort of alcohol that for some reason or another he was trying to ignite in the glass with a lighter. I kept saying that if he didn’t stop the glass would smash and cause someone a serious injury. He managed to get it lit, then the glass smashed and went everywhere and the fire started to spread. I ended up with cuts all over my legs and feet and some glass stuck in my foot, when the ambulance got there though, they wouldn’t treat me. I eventually talked them into sorting my foot out, they wouldn’t take the glass out that was stuck in my foot and just bandaged me up. I’ve looked up Ambulance, Bus, Cut, and Foot, I haven’t put fire on there as it is already on in another dream. 

Ambulance

To see an ambulance in your dream, indicates that your careless activities and indiscretion may lead to major problems and complications. This dream may also stem from your own fears of declining health or that you have contracted a disease. Alternatively, it suggests that you need to stop and pay close attention to some waking situation.

Bus 

To dream that you are riding a bus, implies that you are going along with the crowd. You are lacking originality and are taking no control over where your life is taking. 

Cut

To dream that you have a cut, suggests that you are being let down or being undermined. Alternatively, it refers to feminine sexuality and feminine attitudes toward sex. In particular, if the cuts are on your legs, then it symbolizes an imbalance. You are unable to stand up for yourself.

Foot

To dream that you injured or hurt your foot, signifies a lack of progress, freedom, and independence. Alternatively, the dream may suggests that you have taken a step in the wrong direction. In particular, to dream that your foot gets cut by glass, then it indicates passivity.  You are hesitant or reluctant in taking the first step toward a goal or decision. 

Saturday 14^th July 2007 

So had another dream I remembered last night, it’s funny I seem to be remembering more and more lately. I don’t know if its cos I’m writing them all down and that’s helping… Anyway, last night, it’s all a bit vague but I remember me and a lot of the family (Abigail, Mum, Sue etc) taking a trip to what I presume was London judging by the hotels and shows etc… but we went in a Helicopter (?!), when we arrived we had to look for a hotel and were going in and out of quite a few, looking for the best one cos Mum said she’d treat us. Then we were looking for a show to go and see and when we’d ruled out The Rocky Horror Picture Show cos of the kids we decided to see Oliver! That’s about all I can remember, so I looked up ‘Hotel’ and ‘Helicopter’ as they were the clear things I could remember:- 

Helicopter

To see a helicopter in your dream, represents your ambition and achievements. You are in full pursuit of your goals.

To dream that you are in a helicopter, indicates that you are living beyond your means.  You need to slow down and don’t try to please everyone. Alternatively, you may be experiencing a higher level of consciousness, new-found freedom and greater awareness. 

Hotel

To see a hotel in your dream, signifies a new state of mind or a shift in personal identity. You need to move away from your old habits and old way of thinking. Or you feel the need to temporarily escape from your daily life.

It seems all my dreams are following the trend of escaping from daily life etc…. Hmm!

Friday 13^th July 2007  

Last night I had another weird dream. It was very confusing so I’m just gonna type what I can remember. I think to start with there was a massive fire that I think happened at my house while I was having some sort of party, the fire burnt the house down and my cousin Emma died in the fire but we didn’t find out until a few days later and I had to ring Aunty Heather (that’s Emma’s mum) to tell her. The next thing I remember is being at a theme park with Mum, Abigail, Harry & Max and us all going on the Rapids and getting drenched, then as we were all walking back to the car we had to go across a beach and we were all messing about running in the sea and everything. So I’ve looked up Beach, Fire, Wet, Death and Theme Parks:- 

Beach

To see the beach in your dream, symbolizes the meeting between your two states of mind. The sand is symbolic of the rational and mental processes while the water signifies the irrational, unsteady, and emotional aspects of yourself. It is a place of transition between the physical/material and the spiritual. To dream that you are on the beach and looking out toward the ocean, indicates unknown and major changes that are occurring in your life. Consider the state of the ocean, whether it is calm, pleasant, forbidding, etc

Fire

Depending on the context of your dream, to see fire in your dream can symbolizes destruction, passion, desire, illumination, transformation, enlightenment, or anger. It may suggest that something old is passing and something new is entering your life. Your thoughts and views are changing. In particular, if the fire is under control or contained in one area, it is a metaphor of your own internal fire and inner transformation. It also represents your drive and motivation.To dream that a house is on fire, indicates that you need to undergo some transformation. If you have recurring dreams of your family house on fire, then it suggests that you are still not ready for the change or that you are fighting against the change. Alternatively, it highlights passion and the love of those around you.

Wet                       

To dream that you are wet, suggests that you are drenched or overcome with your emotions. It also signifies a spiritual cleansing, rebirth or renewal.

Death

To dream about the death of a loved one, suggests that you are lacking a certain aspect or quality that the loved one embodies. Ask yourself what makes this person special or what do you like about him. It is that very quality that you are lacking in your own relationship or circumstances. Alternatively, it indicates that whatever that person represents has no part in your own life.  

Theme Park

To see or be in an amusement park in your dream, indicates that you need to set some time for leisure and more enjoyment in your life. Consider how everything in the park is an expression of some aspect of yourself.  Alternatively, you may be too easily distracted lately.

I was on Holiday but it was like a girly Holiday… And my mum was there with Abigail. I went to buy a drink from the bar and realised I only had English Money… Then while I was queuing at the bar I was stung on my stomach by a wasp… I’ve checked out the Dream Dictionary site for the definitions and here they are:
